2. Avoca River Landscape Connections

This project will help wildlife and vegetation in our region respond to a rapidly changing climate. It will also improve waterways and landscape quality and create Traditional Owner opportunities for sharing culture and history.

Avoca River Landscape Connection will develop a large-scale biodiversity corridor to connect the Avoca River with Kara Kara National Park in the west, the Wychitella Nature Conservation Reserve in the north east and Paddys Ranges State Parks in the south east.

The corridors will give plants and animals a chance to find new niches as rainfall and temperature patterns change across the region. The project will also strengthen connections with the Traditional Owners of the land – the Dja Dja Wurrung.

The revegetation plan will also provide carbon offsets. The Catchment Partners Forum is proud of the multiple benefits of this project waterways – for biodiversity, waterways, cultural heritage and climate.

Proposed actions
